
About Seb
Sebastian Ko is founder of A.I. Vermont (part of the Cyberport startup community) and an expert in legaltech and regtech.
Trained as a scientist and practised as an attorney, he holds leadership roles in the law and technology community in Greater China. Mr. Ko received the Bachelor of Civil Law (Oxford) and the Distinguished Service Award (Law Society). He was recognized as an Inter-Pacific Bar Scholar and Gen. T List Honoree.
Previously, Mr. Ko was Asia regional director and senior legal counsel at a leading legaltech multinational corporation. He was also co-founder and COO of DHB Global, a China-based healthtech startup. Mr. Ko began his career practising in financial services regulation and commercial dispute resolution in international law firms.
He regularly speaks and publishes on data protection, intellectual property, technology law and policy, including co-authorships in The RegTech Book and The LegalTech Book.
In the community, Mr. Ko led organization of the first Asia access to justice tech hackathon and has been chairman of the InnoTech Law Hub at the Law Society of Hong Kong since it was founded. He chaired the Hong Kong Hub of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community.
